Since being in hiding, we been situated on the Indian side of the Indian-Nepalese border. Unlike Nepal, where I have a residency permit, I have to keep renewing my  Indian tourist Visa, each time having to fly back to the UK and then back to India , a time-consuming and expensive process. Having done that several times; a long with a wasted trip to a *Turkey, our finances were seriously depleted.

*More aboutTurkey job offer  later.

By May 2014 with my Indian Visa once more about to expire I headed for a Nepalese road border that I knew wasn't equipped with computers yet relied on an old-fashioned legger system.  With a contract out on me as well as an arrest warrant, aware that the Nepalese authorities were looking for Nigel Pogmore,  I decided to take my chance passing through the border with my new and very official identity. There's nothing illegal in this and nothing sinister, back in 2011  for personal security reasons I had changed my name to that of my grandfathers. With nothing to hide, I had always been transparent with the UK authorities, particularly with investigating officers Louise Catlin & Dan Wilson of Avon  Somerset Constabulary about my name change.

Departing India from where we'd been in hiding It wasn't a simple journey, the 120 km journey to the border and take two days. Passing through the border with no different to what I've done many times in the past. Was through the border it was time to head towards Kathmandu avoiding airports would you always more official. My mode of transport are  a mix of numerous taxis and buses  with the locals some of whom are accompanied  with their urinating goats. There are no straight flat roads in Nepal one is either driving uphill or downhill, turning hairpin bends to meet fellow travellers coming the opposite way on a single track road. Perhaps a bit of intentional distraction is that the driver insists on playing loud distorted music for the entire journey.

In keeping with tradition there are many stops along the way, often finding myself dashing out to the local street vendors in search of delicious Momo’s.

Arriving in what had for so long become my hometown of Kathmandu I find a  some cheep accommodation in order to rest for a of days before  contacting friends.

It's not possible to simply have one expiring tourist Visa and then apply for another one straight after. In order to apply for  a new Indian Visa one  has to  tread water;  this is going to be a three-month exercise.  It's imperative that  I'm  not detained by the Kathmandu police or by others that Intent on silencing me that  I remain under the radar.
